The Cliffview Pilot course is designed to transition the student from the basics of flying a small aircraft to a more complex, multi-engine airframe. It will introduce aircraft systems, aerodynamics, maneuvers, and flight procedures. It will also focus on aviation weather, aviation safety, and risk assessment.

This course will be offered to local public and private school students. Classes will be held three times per week for a total of six sessions. During each session, the student will fly at least five takeoffs and landings. He will be required to perform a night local flight and a solo cross-country.

The student will be asked to maintain control by reference to the aircraft’s flight instruments during each flight. He will then be required to navigate using the magnetic compass. Finally, he will be required to demonstrate proper emergency descent on each subsequent flight.
